How to weigh the importance of keywords

I am currently running keyword research for my upcoming SEO campaign.

I have a short list of keywords (around 300) but having a little trouble in measuring the weight of each one based on it's competitiveness etc.

Can anyone offer up a few suggestions of algorithms that help narrow the keywords down to a shorter priority list so I know where to focus best my SEO energy first...

Thanks

Cool question - I think the keyword difficulty tool may be for you.

In my mind there are a few mtrics you should consider noting. Perhaps in an Excel spreadsheet? :-)

Domain AuthorityPage AuthorityLinking Root Domains to the PageLinking Root Domains to the Domain

And get hold of the exact match traffic numbers.

This should give you an idea of what's required to get a ranking for the term. In particular, linking root domains to the domain and domain authority - they seem to be very strong factors in most serps.

Hopefully this post will help, too: http://seogadget.co.uk/understanding-search-rankings-competitiveness/

Hope that helps and good luck!

How to weigh the importance of keywords

Keywords are the most important aspect of SEO work is that since keywords are what people look for when they plug terms into a search engine. This is to match terms to relevant results on web pages. As such, do it yourself SEO algorithms will rank the presence of keywords on a page as one of the most important factors for do it yourself SEO placement within the web pages.
For example, if a SEO website is selling a boxing e-book, most people will plug in the term "boxing ebook" in the search engines. As such, the SEO keywordSrcastic "boxing ebook"Â must be placed in the title, header, body and meta tags of the webpage. This will create the word association that links a web page to SEO keywords. This will obviously improve rankings greatly.
