Page 3Madhvi Sharma works as a Journalist with a daily publication in Bombay. Her assignment is to write articles on the third page with updates on celebrities she meets at parties and get-togethers, which start late at night and go on in to the wee hours of the next day. She gets to meet famous people and celebrities, all of whom welcome her, and provide her with personal and business updates. She shares her room with Pearl Sequiera, an outspoken air-hostess, who would like to meet a wealthy man, age immaterial, and settle down anywhere on Earth. While traveling by a Borivali-bound Western Railway train on her way home to Malad, she meets with an attractive young woman named Gayetri Sachdeva, who has no place to live, is sick because she drank alcohol for the first time, and has also been the subject of sexual abuse at the hands of Charu Mohanty, a parallel film-maker. Madhvi's brings her over to apartment and makes her their room-mate. Then things change for Madhvi and her friends. Pearl meets her millionaire, a much older man, marries him and re-locates to New York. Gayetri gets pregnant by Rohit Kumar, a leading married Bollywood actor, who refuses to have anything to do with her, so she tries to kill herself, does not succeed, but loses the baby. She returns back home to Delhi. Madhvi exposes Rohit's role in Gayetri's near-death, and is immediately asked to tender an apology to Rohit, which she does. She finds that she cannot handle her assignments anymore, and asks that she be transferred to work with Vinayak Mane on the crime beat, and thus begins her new life. She sees her some of celebrities in a new light, especially Anjali Thapar, who volunteers with young orphans; and Pratima Bhave who also does considerable social work. Things change rapidly for Madhvi when Anjali commits suicide; and she does an expose on exploitation of young children = which leads to the termination of her employment. What will become of Madhvi now? What has happened to Gayetri?
