How to be on top of Google ResultsHi, I am optimizing a keyword that has around 40 million search results, I have done everything in the website and has followed all the major linkbuilding guidelines as recommended by SEOmoz. My question is how soon will I be on top of Google for that keyword? Three weeks? 2 months? 6 months? Overall I would like to know how soon does Google make you number one notwithstanding the age of your domain (by the way my domain is relatively new) over other old authority sites. In my ewxperence I am thinking of more trafc to your website first before being able to be really relevant in Googles eyes. AS such it becomes links vs. traffic vs. authority = when you'll be on top of Google. I hope you'll be able to help me on this. ^_^

Ranking #1 is not a matter of time. If you have done everything to build quality links to the site and are adding more revelant content everyday to add value to the end user, you just need to keep it up. There is no magic formula here. Some of the most relevant sites do not rank #1 for everything they want to rank for. This is why no SEO can guarantee rankings, we just cannot know what else is going on behind the scenes and cannot control the other external forces. With that many competitors, they could all be doing the same thing (building good links and content), or there could be just ten working on the same thing you are working on. If Google sees them as more relevant based on click through rates and traffic, then you could potentially end up #11 in 3 months or 3 years even though you've done everything right.
Now this is a rarity. Those that work on making a site highly relevant will be rewarded for the most part, but there is no time frame. I have seen sites rank #1 for some terms in 6 months, some in 2 weeks, others it has taken years. There are 40 million other pages for Google to take into consideration for that one query.
Sorry I can't give you a better answer, but that is why we are in this, the constant challenge.

How to be on top of Google ResultsHello, i think you can get no 1 ranking with in 1 month but you have to do lot of work with quality. it is very necessary to work with quality to get on the top of the Google. forum posting is one of the best option for that. and yes opst only in relevant and new threads. i bring many sites to top position with its help. thanks!! _________________ twin size comforter
